Hilo Trollers membership meeting

Hilo Trollers will hold their annual spring meeting at 6 p.m Wednesday at Wailoa Pavilion 1.

On the agenda: the confirmation of a new president and board and monthly tournament dates, along with preparations for the upcoming season. The proposed tournament dates are April 7, May 5, June 2, July 14 Aug. 4 and the Labor Day event, Aug. 31-Sept. 1.

Following club tradition, last year’s Fisherman of the Year, captain Frank Lui, is expected to take over as president and form a club board.

The meeting will be potluck and a raffle will be held.

Orchid Isle Ohana Kart Club racing

The Orchid Isle Ohana Kart Club will hold its first race of the year from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jan. 13 at Hilo Raceway.

Gates open at 8 a.m., registration starts at 9 a.m., followed by a drivers’ meeting and practice.

County skeet range alters schedule

Due to furloughs and administration leave, the Hawaii County trap and skeet range, located at 1010 Leilani St. in Hilo, will have the shortened hours of 12:30-4:30 p.m. on the following Saturdays: Jan. 12, Jan. 19, Feb. 9, March 16, April 20, May 18 and June 15.

Normal hours of operation are weekends from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. and Wednesday from noon-4 p.m.
