Neighbor Islands winning ‘Gear Up’

Maui High, Hilo Intermediate and Waiakea Elementary are currently trying to hold off Castle High to earn top honors in the Mobi PCS new “Gear Up and Give Back” program to support island schools statewide. The school with the most votes at 9 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 31, will receive a cash donation of $10,000. The second- and third-place schools will each receive donations of $5,000.

As of today, the 10 schools with the greatest number of total votes received are (in order): Maui High, Hilo Intermediate, Waiakea Elementary, Castle High, Ewa Elementary, Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Hilo High, Campbell High, Kahuku High and Waianae High School.

Between now and Aug. 31, members of the community are invited to visit any of the 12 Mobi PCS stores statewide to vote for their favorite local elementary, middle or high school using a custom-designed Mobi Gear Up and Give Back web application. In addition to all Mobi retail stores, 30 of the company’s authorized dealers are also Gear Up and Give Back voting locations. For a complete listing of those authorized dealers, please visit mobipcs.com. No purchase is necessary.

The local schools may be public, charter, parochial or private. The top three schools will be notified in early September. For more information on Mobi’s Gear Up and Give Back school support program, visit mobipcs.com.
