Hilo Little League is accepting applications for ages 8-12 girls and boys for its winter season and is also looking for volunteers interested in coaching.

Player and coaches registration forms may be mailed to Hilo Little League P.O. BOX 4596, Hilo, Hi 96720.

According to a league official, there are also several board positions open.

Go-kart club will

hold racing Saturday

The Orchid Isle Ohana Kart Club will hold racing from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday at Hilo Raceway.

Gate open at 8 a.m., registration closes at 9 a.m. followed by a driver’s meeting at 9:15 a.m with practice running until 10 a.m.

Setting the record straight

Pahoa White and Laupahoehoe split two games on Friday at the Hilo High School girls volleyball tournament at Hilo Armory.

Pahoa White prevailed in the first game 25-9 before the Seasiders won the second game 25-22. Game was reported incorrectly in Saturday’s sports section.
