Victor Bernard Souza Sr., 85, of Ninole died Feb. 14 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Ninole, he was a heavy equipment operator for the former Hilo Coast Processing Co. Visitation will be held from 8-10 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. with burial to follow at Homelani Memorial Park, Section 5. Casual attire; no flowers. Survived by companion, Agnes L. Souza of Ninole; sons, Victor (Linda) Souza Jr. of Hilo and Edward (Joannie) Souza of Las Vegas; daughters, Frances (Wilbert) Waltjen of Hilo, Gail (Keith) Enanoria of Hawaiian Beaches, Jo Ann (Dwayne Kanekoa) of Pepeekeo, Winona (Agaton Jr.) Souza-Barroga of Ainaloa, and Dawn (Ronald) Lapanig of Hawaiian Paradise Park; step-sons, David (Stella) Tavares of Honolulu, Paul (Angie) Tavares of Las Vegas, and Michael (June) Tavares of Mountain View; step-daughter, Gail Smith of Honolulu; sister, Henrietta Carvalho of Hilo; 18 grandchildren, 15 step-grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 20 step-great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Patrick “Puna” Punaikeonaona Keliihoomalu, 44, of Kaimu, Kalapana, died Feb. 15 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was a musician and member of Star of the Sea Painted Church in Kalapana. An all-night visitation will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Friday at the family residence in Kaimu, Kalapana. Another all-night visitation will be held at noon Saturday at the family residence. Funeral service will be held at 9 a.m. Sunday, March 4, at the family residence with burial to follow on the family property. Aloha attire. Henry Jacinto Rezentes, 91, of Hilo died Feb. 17 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Ahualoa, he was a carpenter and painter, a former maintenance mechanic for the Flintkote Co. and was a WWII Army veteran. Public services will be held in July. Survived by daughter, Carol Rezentes of Kailua, Oahu; sons, Harvey Rezentes of Las Vegas, and Rodney (Colleen) Rezentes of Hilo; brother, Morris Rezentes of Honolulu; sister, Nellie (Larry) Rezentes of Sandy, Utah; sisters-in-law, Norma Rezentes of California and Grace Rezentes of Oahu; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
