Huston “Ellis” Mount, 90, of Kailua-Kona died Jan. 19 at his residence. Born in Connersville, Ind., he was a retired professor of library service at Columbia University in New York City, author, member of the Special Libraries Association and Christian Science, and served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II. Private services will be held. Survived by his son, Paul (Carol) Mount of Matawan, N.J.; daughter, Marsha (Hans) Eckert of Kailua-Kona; one granddaughter; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mae Akamu, 92, of Kailua, Oahu, died Jan. 20 at her residence. Born in Honolulu, she was a retired elementary school teacher. Esther Soon Yo Kamoku, 84, of Hilo died Jan. 31 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Honolulu, she was a former food service manager for the Army Air Force Exchange Service.
