The Puna Gallery and Gift Emporium celebrated its soft opening Saturday, featuring its collection of fine art, including paintings, prints, wooden bowls, sculpture and furniture handcrafted by the community’s artists.

The family-operated fine-art gallery and gift shop in the heart of Pahoa also offers a variety of locally made gifts, from Puna-grown coffee, clothing and jewelry to soaps, lotions, student works and gift cards.

“This space is for artists and producers who live or work in Puna to have a venue to showcase their talent and to market their unique products to the public,” said owner Amedeo Markoff.

The gallery is located at 15-2901 Pahoa Village Road and open 10 a.m.-6 p.m. daily, but closed Wednesdays. An event-filled grand opening will be March 31.
