The Hilo Chocolate Festival will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 9, at the Hilo Hawaiian Hotel.
This free festival hosted by the East Hawaii Cacao Association highlights the excellence of Hawaii Island grown cacao with free chocolate samples, tree to bar cacao exhibits and demos, free farm tours, agricultural exhibits, cacao seed giveaways and a silent auction.
Taste and purchase delicious bonbons, bars and other products showcased by Hawaii Island’s very own cacao and chocolate growers and artisans.
Vote for your favorites for a chance to win a Grand Prize gift basket of Big Island chocolates.
Enjoy exhibits about growing cacao and making it into chocolate.
Knowledgeable EHCA members and agricultural organizations will be on hand to answer questions, whether you are curious or serious about growing cacao or chocolate making.
Plant a cacao seed in a pot to take home and grow your own cacao tree, while supplies last.
Bid on interesting and unusual objects at the silent auction — proceeds will help to fund the festival and EHCA’s mission of supporting East Hawaii cacao growers and chocolate makers.
Complimentary off-site farm tours will depart from the festival throughout the day, weather permitting. Sign up for tours in person on a first-come, first-served basis. Space is limited.
