George Kapule Ciacci, 91, of Hilo died Dec. 26 at home. He was a longtime bartender in Hollywood, Calif. Celebration of life noon Wednesday, Jan. 14, at 774 Kealakai St. in Hilo. Sandra May Abejon Kendrick, 73, of Volcano, formerly of Waimanalo, Oahu, died Dec. 11 at home. Born in Honolulu, she was a retired vice-president at Waterworks Hawaii and worked at Attco Inc. in Honolulu before becoming a family caregiver. Private celebration of life Friday (Jan. 9) at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Survived by husband, Edward Kendrick of Volcano; children, Matthew (Kristie) Nagato of Honolulu, Jason Subica of Volcano, Shannon (Erick) Subica-Deponte of Mountain View and Terilyn “Tara” (Rogelio) Equihua-Sanchez of Laupahoehoe; brothers, Jose Abejon Jr. and Abraham (Allison) Abejon of Waimanalo; half-brothers, Joenar (Sheryl) Abejon of Washington, McDonald Abejon of Nevada and Norjay (Kelii Matsumoto) Abejon Waipahu, Oahu; 11 grandchildren, plus great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Robert Harold Krause, 53, of Ocean View died Dec. 9 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Portage, Wis., he was the road superintendent for Rancho Road maintenance in Ocean View, a welding trainer for John Deere, a front-end AC Value Center supervisor in Cordova, Alaska, former operator of Anderson Island Fishing Lodge to Key West, Fla., avid deep-sea fisherman, multiple bass tournaments champion and Army National Guard Reserve veteran. Services at a later date. Survived by wife, Christine Krause of Ocean View; daughters, Haley Sloane of Washington and Hannah Krause of Phoenix; stepchildren, Benjamin Grzyb of Tok, Alaska, Brandon Grzyb of Biloxi, Miss., and Amanda Grzyb of Thompson, Conn.; four grandchildren. Peter Jay Maigret, 76, of Mountain View died Nov. 16 at Hilo Benioff Medical Center. Born in New York City, he was a carpenter and owner of Trans Pacific Construction. No services at this time. Survived by son, Owen Maigret of Los Angeles; brother, Mark (MaryAnne) Maigret of Honaunau; sister, Linda Maigret of Ojai, Calif.; brother, David (Erika) Maigret of Menlo Park, Calif.; a grandson; nieces and nephews. Lawrence Lono Puou, 87, of Holualoa died Nov. 22 at home. Born in Opihihale, he was a construction worker, rock mason, coffee farmer and fisherman. Private family services.
