Michael Kim Fraser, 75, of Kailua-Kona died July 21 at home. He was born in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, Canada, he was a certified lumber grader in Canada, owner/operator of the former Video Showplace in Kona, manager of the former Movie Gallery stores on the Big Island, asset protection associate at Kailua-Kona Walmart, board chair of The Arc of Kona, and involved in the Kona Crime Prevention Committee, Friends for Fitness, member of The Royal Canadian Legion and charter member and former president of the Rotary Club of Kona Sunrise. Celebration of life later in the year. Survived by wife, Beverly Fraser; brothers, Jeff (Colleen) Fraser and Timothy (Chrissy) Fraser; sister, Jennifer (Wes) Swain; a grandson; nieces, nephews and cousins. Antone Waha Kawaauhau Jr., 64, of Las Vegas, formerly of Opihihale, died June 12 at Southern Hills Hospital and Medical Center. Born in Kealakekua, Hawaii, he was a general laborer for Pan Pacific and Mele Construction, custodian at Konawaena High School and chef at Maunalani Bay Hotel and Palace Station Hotel and Casino. Visitation 10-11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, at Yano Hall in Captain Cook. Celebration of life service at 11 a.m. Lunch and fellowship to follow. Survived by wife, Lushanya Kawaauhau of Las Vegas; daughter, Shavonn (Mike) Street of Las Vegas; son, Antone Kawaauhau III of Las Vegas; stepson, Robert (Jolayne) Pelekane of Keei; sisters, Lorrieann (David) Haalilio Sr. and Anthona Kawaauhau of Kealakekua, Melanie (Jesse) Kawaauhau of Ocean View; brother, Edward (Meloney) Kawauuhau Sr. of Kealakekua; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Carmelita C. Peregrino, 90, of Hilo died Aug. 6 at Hilo Benioff Medical Center. Born in the Philippines. she was a retired package line worker for a produce company. Visitation 9-10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 6 at Malia Puka O Kalani Catholic Church in Keaukaha. Mass at 10 a.m. Burial noon at Homelani Memorial Park. Mass attendees advised to carpool due to limited parking at church. Survived by brother, Pancho Peregrino of Pauilo; sisters, Cyntha P. Liberato of Hilo, Nilda P. Loretta Sumiki, formerly Loretta Victorino and Loretta Helliangao, 88, of Keaau died Aug 6 at Hilo Benioff Medical Center. Born in Olaa, she worked at the former Uncle Billy’s Hilo Bay Hotel and retired from the former Hilo Medical Center. Service and celebration of life 1:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 12, at.
