Kevin Kaualehua Hiapo Kahaloa, 57, of Hilo died Aug. 14 at Hilo Benioff Medical Center. Born in Honolulu, he was a school bus driver for Ground Transport Inc. and Roberts Hawaii School Bus Services and member of Hilo Seventh-day Adventist Church. Nicole “Nicki” Sheree (Akana) Kawelu, 38, of Hilo died June 4 in Lynnwood, Wash. Celebration of life for family and close friends 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, at Pahoa Recreation Center. Survived by husband, Hiram Kawelu Jr. ; children, Chloe Macayan-Kawelu, Harper Macayan-Kawelu and Boston Dehmer.

Richard Glenn Ligon, 79, of Hawaiian Paradise Park died June 12. Born in Almont, Mo., he was an IT systems analyst, marriage counselor, purebred Burmese cat breeder and National Merit Scholar with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and economics from California Institute of Technology and masters in clinical psychology from Sonoma State University. Services held. He was laid to rest by wife, Merrily, a U.S. Navy veteran, at East Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Survived by sisters, Patricia A. Sexton and Mary Jean Ligon; nieces and nephews.
