Hawaii County has announced the launch of its fiscal year 2025-2026 Impact Grants program, inviting eligible organizations to apply for competitive funding opportunities that will drive positive change across Hawaii Island communities.
The program, administered through the Department of Research and Development, provides annual competitive funding for nonprofit organizations “pursuing innovative projects that strengthen our island’s future,” according to a county news release.
The FY 25-26 program builds on the success of the previous year’s initiative, which awarded $548,095 to 31 projects.
Eligible proposals must demonstrate positive impact within one or more of the following program areas: agriculture and food systems; business and industry development; community well-being; film and creative industries; and regenerative tourism.
Important dates for applicants:
— Request for proposals issue date: Friday, Aug. 1.
— Informational webinar: Wednesday, Aug. 13 (2-3 p.m.).
— Questions/comments deadline: Friday, Aug. 22.
— Department response to questions: Friday, Aug. 29.
— Proposal due date: Monday, Oct. 1.
— Selection/award notifications: Monday, Oct. 27.
— Grant agreement execution period: Oct. 27-Nov. 27.
— Tentative agreement commencement: Oct. 22.
