Kilauea Drama &Entertainment Network, or KDEN, has announced auditions for the Tom Stoppard comedy “Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead.”
Auditions will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 15, and Wednesday, July 16, at Keaau Armory.
There are roles for at least 15 characters in this inventive tale that expands upon the exploits of two courtiers from Shakespeare’s “Hamlet” as they observe the madcap antics of the Dane royals.
Roles include the title characters, characters from “Hamlet” and “a troupe of tragedians,” according to a press release.
The show is being directed by Suzi Bond.
Performances of “Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead” will be Sept. 5-14 at the Keawe Theater in downtown Hilo.
