Robert D. Aguirre, 75, of Laupahoehoe died June 7 at home. Born on Maui, he was a retired fuel truck driver, foster parent and member of the Seniors Tennis Group and Hawaii Island Archery Club. Visitation 10-10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 12, at Ballard Family Mortuary Chapel. Service at 10:30 a.m., followed by lunch on the lanai. No flowers, except orchid plants or koden (monetary gifts). Survived by wife, Laura Aguirre of Laupahoehoe; sons, Alden Aguirre and Adrian (Nicole) Aguirre of Laupahoehoe; daughters, Vanessa (Daniel) Gutierrez of Conroe, Texas, Cherie (Eric) Uyema of Daly City, Calif., Erin (Ronald) Manuel of Kapaau and Ava-Amalia Aguirre of Laupahoehoe; brother, Anthony Aguirre of Waipahu, Oahu; sisters, Betty Jane (Andy) Callejo of Mililani, Oahu, and Diana (Willy) Tanaka of Pearl City, Oahu; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; aunts and cousins. Bradley Joshua Ikaika Ahia, 38, of Captain Cook died April 15 at home. Born in Kealakekua, he worked for Kona Brewing Co., graduated from Youth Challenge Academy and enjoyed surfing. Angela Hiroko Goya, 99, of Hilo, died May 18 at her sister’s home. Born in Hilo, she was a retired registered nurse/anesthetist for the former Hilo Hospital. Private service held. Joy Namiko Matsuyama Kawakami, 73, of Kealakekua on May 20 in Kealakekua. Born on Oahu, she retired from the county Department of Water Supply and was a member of Kona Daifukuji Soto Mission.
