Rudy Awan On Ai, Sr., 87, of Kailua-Kona died June 8 in Sacramento, Calif. Born in Hilo, Hawaii, he was a retired computer technician for the former Sprint Telecommunications and U.S. Air Force veteran. Graveside service 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 1, at West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery in Kailua-Kona. Casual aloha attire. Survived by wife, Drue Ai of Kailua-Kona; son, Rudy Ai Jr. of Lockeford, Calif.; daughters, Denise Ai Blaufus of Lodi, Calif., and Darlene Ai of Kailua-Kona; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins. Mabel Norma Arruda Meyer Jernstrom, 86, of Hilo died June 8 at home. Born in Hilo, she was a retired curator at Wailoa Art Center. Celebration of life at a later date. Survived by children, Suzette (Tommy) Cossey of Honolulu, Kerry Meyer of Hilo, Gregory (Akiko) Meyer of Osaka, Japan and Monica Meyer of Hilo; sisters, Miriam (Joven) Quirit of Pepeekeo, Carol (Norman) Cabreira of Washington and Elaine Cheeks of Oklahoma; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Alice Takeko Yonemitsu, 94, of Naalehu died May 20 at home. Born in Waiohinu, she was a retired teacher for Pahala and Naalehu elementary schools and member of Naalehu Hongwanji Mission.
