John “Jacky” Delima Alicuben, 91, of Hilo died May 31 at Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center. Born in Hilo, he was a county parks caretaker, owner of the former Jacky’s Fishing Supply, member of Hilo Coast United Church of Christ, fisherman and hunter and a U.S. Army veteran during the Korean War. Visitation from 9-10 a.m. Wednesday (June 18) at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Celebration of life at 10 a.m. Burial at East Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2 at a later date. Casual attire; no flowers. Survived by children, Jacklyn “Jaydee” (Rudy) Spencer of Hilo, Luane Kelley (Ronne) Ishii of Keaau and Nolan (Lori) Alicuben of Ainaloa; godson, Cy Alicuben of Hilo; hanai son, Michael (Suzy) Kawamoto of Hilo; brothers, Conrad (Peggy) Alicuben and Donald (Mae) Alicuben of Hilo; sisters-in-law, Pearl Kailimai of Hilo and Charmian Sato of Mililani, Oahu; companion, Leatrice Kamalii of Hilo; nine grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and two hanai grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Geraldine “Gerry” Ebaniz, 80, of Kailua-Kona died April 29 at Queen’s North Hawaii Community Hospital in Waimea. She was a homemaker and member of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Services 1:30-2 p.m., Saturday, July 5, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 73-4202 Hawaii Belt Rd. in Kailua-Kona. Luncheon to follow. Additional information provided on funeral program. Private scattering of ashes at a later date. Survived by husband, Peter Ebaniz; sons, Kalani Ebaniz and Scott Ebaniz of Kailua-Kona; daughters, Gerrydale (Robert) Libarios and Deannie (Glenn) Ferreira of Mililani, Oahu; siblings, Arnold (Lorie) Ako and Lucille (Sipou) Mareko; 11 grandchildren, a hanai grandson, three step-grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins. Brenda Kay Jensen, 70, of Boulder City, Nev., formerly of Kona, died May 22 at home. Born in Petoskey, Mich., she was a career journalist who retired from West Hawaii Today and worked for the Petoskey News Review in Michigan, and quilter. Celebration of life at a later date. Survived by husband, Martin Jensen of Boulder City, Nev.; daughters, Erika (Ryan) Jensen, of Las Vegas and Chelsea (Scott) Jensen of Volcano; brother, Jack (Willa) Garringer, of Petoskey, Michigan; brothers- and sisters-in-law; a grandson; nieces and nephews. Charla Beth Larrimore, 67, of Milolii, died March 16 a home. Born in Wilmington, Del., she was an educator and researcher with a doctorate in education from Stanford University in 2001 and B.A. in English literature from Widener University in 1984 with coursework at the Honors College of the University of Texas. She produced an ethnographic study on how new technologies were introduced and utilized in mathematics education at the middle school and high school levels in the U.S., which she presented at the Global Conference of Social Science and Educational Researchers in Cape Town, South Africa. No services at this time. Survived by children, Chenoa Trout, John Baugh VI and Ariél Baugh; siblings, Debora Scott and Hollie Hastings; four grandchildren; nephews and nieces. Robert L. Perreira, 84, of Kailua-Kona died May 30. Born in South Kohala, he was a truck driver. Private services.
