Yoneichi “Yone” “Rusty” Nakamura, 94, of Waimea died Feb. 6. Born in Holualoa, he was a retired semi-truck driver/mechanic/heavy equipment operator for Parker Ranch, self-employed courier, painter and landscaper and worked for the former Hamakua Sugar Co., Kamuela Vacuum Cooling plant and several construction firms. Born in Hilo, he was a retired Honolulu Fire Department firefighter engineer, federal firefighter on Wake Island, worked for Aloha Airlines Cargo, was a pa‘u rider and U.S. Army veteran.
