Sofronio Cac Abut, 88, of Waimea died March 7 at home. Born in Sanchez Mira, Cagayan, Philippines, he was retired from Hilton Waikoloa Village and worked at the former Hamakua Sugar Co. and a sawmill in the Philippines. Visitation 9-11 a.m. Monday (March 18) at United Methodist Church in Honokaa. Funeral service at 11 a.m. Burial 12:30 p.m. at Honokaa County Cemetery. Casual attire. Survived by wife, Cresencia Cabuyadao Abut of Waimea; daughters, Mirasol Abut (Robert J.) Gabriele and Daisy Abut (Leonard V.) Kathleen Laurine Araki, 89, of Hilo died Feb. 26 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Mountain View, she was a retired housekeeper at Four Seasons Resort Hualalai. Private services held. Dorothy “Ginger” Lucille Auna, 91, of Kailua-Kona died March 3 at home. Born in Lahaina, Maui, she was a retired musician, teacher, cook, member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Holualoa Ward and volunteered with Boy Scouts of America. Visitation 8:30-10 a.m. Monday, April 1, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Kona Stake Center in Kailua-Kona.
