The 2nd Annual Hilo High School Jingle Bell Color Run is on tap for 3 p.m. Sunday at the Russell Carroll Bayfront Soccer Fields.

The event is co-chaired by student athletes Kekaihulali and Kekaimalino Halpern, along with Tai Hess and Xarren Jose.

Hulali Halpern, a Hilo High junior, placed first at the Hawaii High School Athletic Association (HHSAA) state championship in November.

The students are organizing the event to raising funds for their classes and fund their class activities, and will also donate some funds to the Veterans Home of Hilo.

This event is open to all age groups.

Packet pick-up and late registration will be from 2-3pm.

There will be 1 mile or 2 mile fun run/walks to choose from.

Participants may register online at (www.leaguelineup.com/sunrise-athletics-and-services-llc) up until 8 p.m. Saturday.

Radio announcer Eddie Ombac will be the event emcee.

There will be prize giveaways, children’s games, post race snacks and awards.

Medals will be awarded to the top three male and female keikis in their respective age groups.
