Police have initiated a first-degree terroristic threatening investigation after being informed of an anonymous threat made involving Keaau High School.

At 7:28 p.m. Wednesday, it was reported to Puna patrol officers that a concerned parent notified school officials of a threatening social media message from an unknown person.

Although the identification of the suspect and origin of the message has not yet been determined, the police have increased their police today at the school.

It’s the second social media threat made toward a Keaau school this week. Police reported a similar threat made Monday toward Keaau Middle School.

The threats are being investigated by detectives with the East Hawaii Juvenile Aid Section.

Anyone with information is asked to call the police non-emergency line at (808) 935-3311 or Crime Stoppers at (808) 961-8300.
