Enjoy an afternoon of poetry and conversation with Genny Lim from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at the East Hawaii Cultural Center.

Lim is a former San Francisco arts commissioner, SFJAZZ poet laureate, and the author of five poetry books. Her writings are informed by her passion for social justice, her collaborations with jazz legends such as Herbie Lewis, and her experience growing up as a second generation Chinese American in San Francisco.

Among other readings, she will share material inspired by her time in Bali, Indonesia.

The event is free but advanced reservations are required. Visit EHCC.org for more information.

The East Hawaii Cultural Center is located at 141 Kalakaua Street in Hilo.
