Joseph Robert Ah Choy Sr., 92, of Ookala died June 17 at home. Born in Papaaloa, he was a retired heavy equipment operator for the former Hamakua Sugar Co., member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Laupahoehoe, and member/volunteer of Hawaii County Senior Program. Visitation 8-10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Funeral service at 10 a.m. Burial 11:30 a.m. at Alae Cemetery, Section K. Survived by children, Deanna Ah Choy of Waimea, Joseph (Pauline) Ah Choy Jr. of Papaaloa, Alverna Ballesteros of Hilo and Ivan (Bernadette) Ah Choy of Ookala; brother, Ernest (Annie Mae) Ah Choy of Pearl City, Oahu; 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins. Caron Naomi Ikeda, 43, of Honolulu died July 15. Born in Kealakekua, she was a Vice President and manager for Bank of Hawaii Trust Services Group, Financial Planning Department. Visitation 4:30-5:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 11, at Nuuanu Memorial park and Mortuary-East Chapel in Honolulu. Service at 5:30 p.m. No flowers. Survived by father, Aaron; mother, Carol; sister, Kelsi (Wyatt) Akahoshi; grandparents Sandy Iwashita and Ike Ikeda; a nephew, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Born in Hilo, she was a quality control reviewer for the state Department of Human Services, senior program volunteer for Meals On Wheel, and member of the Honohina and Papaaloa Hongwanji missions, Kiwanis Club of East Hawaii, East Hawaii Hiroshima Kenjin Kai, Japanese Community Association of Hawaii and Daniel K. Inouye Institute-Hawaii Community Foundation. Visitation 3-4 p.m. Saturday (Aug. 5) at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Memorial service at 4 p.m. Casual attire; no koden (monetary gifts). Irene Freitas Perreira, 94, of Hayesville, N.C., died June 29 at home. Celebration of life 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Tuesday (Aug. 1) at Hawaiian Memorial Park in Kaneohe, Oahu. Burial to follow.
