Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center, a local skilled nursing and rehabilitation center, recently named Donna Okinaka its new executive director.

Okinaka has worked in health care for over 12 years. She previously served as human resources director at Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home, and in 2018 she earned her nursing home administrator license. Before coming to Hale Anuenue, she was assistant administrator for Hilo Medical Center Extended Care.

“The team here has been great in welcoming me to the facility,” Okinaka said about the Hale Anuenue staff.

Okinaka enjoys spending time with the facility’s associates, residents and families, and she considers each resident to be a part of her family, according to a press release announcing her appointment.

“Being in health care is truly a passion of mine,” she said about her job.

Okinaka’s goals are to continue to build relationships within the facility and to provide quality care while improving census and revenue.

Located at 1333 Waianuenue Ave. in Hilo, Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center is one of four skilled nursing and rehabilitation facilities in Hawaii managed by Life Care Centers of America.
