Suspect in fatal hit-and-run collision released pending investigation

Police have released from custody the suspect in a fatal hit-and-run collision on Highway 11 in Glenwood on Sunday evening without charging him, pending further investigation.

According to police, the driver involved in the collision, 34-year-old Patrick Murphy of Mountain View, was arrested on suspicion of first-degree negligent homicide, DUI, leaving the scene of an accident, and failing to give information and render aid.

The name of the victim, a 40-year-old male pedestrian, hasn’t been released by police.
