Marvin Bauman, 74, of Hawaiian Paradise Park, previously of Lodi and Medina, Ohio, died Nov. 28, 2021, at home. He was a U.S. Army Vietnam War-era veteran and a devout Christian. Services with military honors at noon Thursday (May 18) at East Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2.

Omar Cordeiro, 51, of Hawaii Island died May 1. No known family. Survivors are asked to call Hilo Medical Center at (808) 932-3500, option 4.

Peter Makarewicz, 74, of Volcano died April 17 at home. He was a retired real estate broker and U.S. Army Vietnam War veteran. Harry Ayana Respicio, 73, of Papaikou died April 4 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was retired from California Hawaii Foliage Growers and also worked for T. Hara and Co. Ltd. and Hilo Candy Co.

Visitation 5-6 p.m. Friday, May 26, at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Funeral service at 6 p.m. Graveside committal service and burial 10 a.m. Saturday, May 27, 2023, at Alae Cemetery. Casual attire. Survived by wife, Laveinia Respicio of Papaikou; daughters, Melissa Respicio, Michelle Respicio and Sheena Respicio of Papaikou; brother, Donald Respicio Sr. of Panaewa; sister, Winifred (Raymond) Agpoon of Kaiwiki; sisters-in-law, Florence Respicio of Keaukaha, Joan Respicio of Hilo and Sorania Bailado of Kona; brothers-in-law, Emelio (Goody) Bailado of Germany, Darryl (Mercy) Bailado of Oahu, Curtis Bailado of Kona and Jim Stockman of Idaho; 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins. Michiko Uyeda, 90, of Papaikou died Feb. 26 at home. Born in Japan, she was a retired laborer for Hamakua Sugar Co. Private services held. Survived by daughters, Janet (Ross Tanaka) Mori and Dorothy (Travis Barbee) Vincent; stepson, Kenneth (Vivian) Uyeda; brother, Yoshio (Akio) Araki of Japan; two grandchildren; step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
