The East Hawaii Cultural Center and Hilo Education Arts Repertory Theatre today are presenting an outdoor concert titled “Here Comes the Sun: The Music of the Beatles.”

The one-hour concert filled with music from the Beatles will be performed twice — at noon and 3 p.m. — at Lincoln Park in Hilo.

The outdoor concert is part of EHCC’s newly formed Out-of-Doors Program, which brings music to the community with a series of free concerts.

This concert is being produced and directed by Yisa Var, who will also serve as the emcee for the event.

HEART and the EHCC are presenting concerts over the next few months that vary in theme and genre.

Some of the upcoming concerts being discussed are a night of Hawaiian music, a sing-along from Disney classics, an all-female rock and roll night, and the music of Abba.

The concerts are made possible by funding from Hawaii County. The concert will be a family-friendly, alcohol-free event.

The concert will be weather-permitting, and in the case of rain, it will be moved to the second floor of EHCC.
