Helen Barayuga Sulquiano, 51, of Kapaau, died March 30 at Kaiser Moanalua Hospital. Born in Laoag City, Philippines, she was a sales associate for Hamakua Macadamia Nut Factory, a sales clerk at Whaler’s General Store, a housekeeper at Hapuna Prince Hotel and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Visitation to be held at 8 a.m. April 22 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hawi, with Mass to follow at 10 a.m. and burial at the Hawi County Cemetery. Casual attire; flowers welcome. Survived by husband Christopher Sulquiano of Kapaau; sister Gemmalyn (Jeffrey) Baptista of Las Vegas; brother Joefrey (Donna) Barayuga of Kapaau; parents-in-law Concepcion and Mariano Sulquiano of Kohala and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Rodolfo Cabatu, 85, of Laupahoehoe, died March 17 at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in Paauilo, he was a retired electrician for the County Department of Water and the Hamakua Sugar Company, and a U.S. Navy Veteran. Friends may call on April 23 for a visitation from 9-10:30 a.m. at Dodo Mortuary Chapel in Hilo, with funeral service to follow at 10:30 a.m. and cremation afterward. Survived by sons Dexter (Yvonne) Egdamin of Hilo and Jason Lance Cabatu of Laupahoehoe; daughters Deborah (Sonny) Avenue of Pahala, Dale Egdamin of Hilo, Diana (Aaron) Matushita of Kealakekua and Kriste (Kevin Curry) Cabatu of Puna; sisters Christine Salvador of Hilo and Mary Bona of Ewa Beach; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. James Richard Cotter, 74, of Kailua-Kona, died March 19. Born in Detroit, he was a self-employed electrician. Services to be announced at a later date. Survived by wife Robin Cotter of Kailua-Kona; brother-in-law Eric Anderberg of La Mesa, Calif.; sisters-in-law Holly (Michael) Young of Kailua, Oahu, Heidi Anderberg and Coel Risley, both of La Mesa, Calif.; two nephews and one niece. Robert Lowell Makekau Stallard, 68, formerly of Kailua, died in Pahoa on December 13. Born in Honolulu. Celebration of life potluck to be held April 20 from 2-6 p.m. at the Pahoa Recreation Center, and a ceremony to be held April 21 from 2-4 p.m. at Luther Makekau Point in Puna between Opihikau and MacKenzie State Park. Delbert “Del” Johnson Snedeker, Sr., 92, of Pahoa, died April 9 at home. Born in Hilo, he was a former crane operator for Canec Company, a U.S. Air Force WWII and Korean War Veteran, and a member of the Hawaii Army National Guard. Visitation to be held April 24 from 4-5 p.m. at Dodo Memorial Chapel in Hilo, with funeral and cremation to follow at 5 p.m. Casual attire.
