Roadwork on Kaumana Drive in Hilo should be finished by this Wednesday, weather permitting.

Since April 4, traffic on Kaumana Drive between Mohouli Street and Lele Street in Hilo has been reduced to one lane during intermittent repaving work.

Hawaii County Department of Public Works spokeswoman Sherise Kana‘e-Kane said the project should be completed by Wednesday.

According to Kana‘e-Kane, crews have repaved the 0.71-mile stretch of road and milled about 2 inches from the surface to improve the road quality.
