Sharon Lei Lorraine Balai, 76, of Waimea died March 6 at home. Born in Hakalau, she was a former bartender,Hawaiian quilt maker whose work was displayed in books and museums nationwide and member of Ka Hui Kapa Apana ‘O Waimea quilt club. Private services. Survived by daughters, Rebecca (Peter) Piilani of Anchorage, Alaska, Melissa (Roy) Antonio of Kailua-Kona and Vicki Kaiue of Waimea; son, Scott Kaiue of Waimea; sisters, Elizabeth Thomas of Waimea, Christine McDougal of Honolulu, Donna Bento of Hilo, Marjorie Bento of Kona and Ramona (Hurshley) Alani of Pahoa; brothers, Elvis Bento of California and Andrew Bento of Kona; sister-in-law, Amy Bento of Honolulu; eight grandchildren; great-granchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews. Michael John Feeney, 74, of Kailua-Kona died March 18 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Beaumont, Texas, he was a retired teacher, board member of Kona Education Center, member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church and Malulani Gardens Association, and orchid grower. Reynaldo Lawrence Fernandez, 35, of Kailua-Kona died March 8 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Hilo, he was a chef at Kukio Golf and Beach Club.
