Hilo’s own Lyman Museum will hold a Manuahi Day on Monday, March 27.

Those who haven’t visited the museum since they were in grade school — or if their keiki haven’t seen it yet — are encouraged to treat their‘ohana on Prince Kuhio Day to a free day at the museum.

The Lyman Museum is the only place in all of Hawaii where visitors can explore both the natural and the cultural history of the islands under one roof.

Volcanoes, island formation, natural habitats, plants and animals, marine and land shells, rock and minerals — they are all to be found in the Earth Heritage Gallery.

And in the new Island Heritage Gallery, visitors can time travel through the human history of Hawaii, from the settlement of the islands to the present day.

Everyone is welcome to visit at no charge from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Manuahi Day on March 27. No reservations are required.

Additional parking for this day only will be available next door at Hilo Union School. For more information, call (808) 935-5021 or visit www.lymanmuseum.org.
