Hawaii Island police are seeking two men who are missing.
Daniel Joseph Peaster, a 27-year-old man formerly of Pahoa, was initially reported missing in mid-November and was believed to be heading to camp in Pololu Valley in North Kohala.
Police say Peaster may still be camping/living in Pololu Valley or another North Kohala valley, and occasionally may come out of the valley for supplies. He’s believed to be driving a blue van.
Peaster is described as 6-feet tall, 150 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes.
According to court records, Peaster was cited by Kona police Nov. 10 for driving without insurance, delinquent vehicle weight tax and no current safety check. He owes $472 for those infractions.
He also was cited Jan. 14 by North Kohala police for using a mobile device while driving and driving without a license, court records state. He also owes $469 for those infractions.
Police also are renewing their request for information relative to the disappearance of 76-year-old William Romeo Bishop Sr. of Keaau.
Keaau was reportedly last seen Jan. 22 near his 22nd Avenue home in Hawaiian Paradise Park. His family is deeply concerned for his well-being.
Bishop’s family is offering a cash reward for information that may lead to his whereabouts, police said.
Bishop is described as Caucasian with a light complexion, 5-feet-8-inches tall, 170 pounds, with gray hair and green eyes.
His 2019 Toyota Corolla has since been recovered, and police are investigating the circumstances in which the car was found.
