There was one new death from COVID-19 reported this week in Hawaii County by the state Department of Health.
The man was over the age of 65 and was hospitalized with an underlying condition.
Statewide, there were 12 new deaths reported this week, bringing the death toll to 1,788 individuals throughout the state since the start of the pandemic.
Case counts continued to decline as well this week, with the state’s seven-day average dropping from 89 on Feb. 15 to 70.
The DOH did not provide case counts or metrics last Wednesday due to an ongoing update to its disease surveillance system.
