Hisashi Horiuchi, 91, of Hilo died Jan. 30 at Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home in Hilo. Born in Paia, Maui, he was a retired salesman for Hilo Rice Mill, head storeroom keeper for the former Naniloa Hotel, U.S. Army veteran and member of Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin. Private services held. No flowers or koden (monetary gifts). Online condolences: domortuary.com. Survived by son, Kenn H. (Marisa) Horiuchi of Honolulu; daughter, Lynne R. John “Bobo” Nicholas Perez III, 76, of Hoolehua, Molokai, died Dec. 11 in Waimea. He managed the former Don Ho’s Island Grill at the Aloha Tower Marketplace in Honolulu, Molokai Ranch Dining Room, and worked at Kanemitsu’s in Kaunakakai, was a musician who performed with Bell and James and Dick Jensen, high school teacher, drywaller and graduate of Molokai High School class of 1964 and University of Washington. Visitation 9-10 a.m. Saturday, April 15, at Hoolehua Congregational Church Fellowship Pavilion, 2205 Lihipali Ave., Hoolehua, Molokai. Celebration of life memorial service at 10 a.m. Procession to Kanakaloloa Cemetery for inurnment at 11 a.m. Homestead-style lunch at noon. Minoru “Junior” “Mino” Takehiro Jr., 89, of Hilo died Feb. 9 at home. Born in Pahala, he was a retired self-employed farmer, U.S. Army Korean War veteran and member of South Panaewa Community Association, 7-11 Golf Club and Woodworkers Association. Visitation 10-11 a.m. Friday, March 10, at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Celebration of Life at 11 a.m. Cremation to follow. Casual attire. No flowers or koden (monetary gifts). Juanita “Janet” Tomas, 86, of Mountain View died Feb. 5 at Hilo Medical Center, Born in Pepeekeo, she was a retired waitress for several Big Island hotels.
