Clarence Cabral, 71, of Hilo, died Jan. 27 at home. Born in Hilo, he was a retired county Public Works power mower operator, harvesting supervisor for the former Puna Sugar Co., avid hunter and outdoorsman. Visitation 4-6 p.m. Friday, March 3, at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Funeral service at 6 p.m. Cremation to follow. Casual attire; face masks required. Survived by wife, Winifred Cabral of Hilo; sons, Charlton Cabral and Casey (Charlotte) Cabral of Mountain View; daughter, Crystallynn (Daniel Ah Sing) Cabral of Hilo; brothers, Charles (Sharon) Cabral and Melvin Cabral of Hilo; sisters, Blanche (Patrick) Pestana of Honolulu, Diane (Joseph Naikidi) Andreas of Hilo and Susan (Donald) Kendrick of Chicago; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins. Stanley Noriyoshi Ishida, 84, of Aiea, Oahu, died Jan. 23 at Kaiser Permanente Moanalua Medical Center in Honolulu. Born in Hilo, he was principal broker for Westwood Properties in Honolulu, a graduate of Hilo High School and U.S. Air Force and National Guard veteran. Visitation 5-5:30 p.m. Thursday, March 2, at Mililani Mortuary Mauka Chapel, Mililani Memorial Park Rd. at Ka Uka Blvd. in Waipahu, Oahu. Services at 5:30 p.m. Casual attire; no flowers. Burial 9 a.m. Friday, March 3, at Mililani Memorial Park. Survived by wife, Corrine Ishida of Honolulu; son, Lance (May) Ishida of Waimea; daughter, Sharilyn (Curtis) Tanaka of Aiea; brother, Shojiro Ishida of Hilo; sister, Amy Wong of Honolulu; six grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Peter “Peet” Louw Nelson, 92, of Keaau died Feb. 14 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Denver, he was a retired artist and U.S. Navy veteran. Visitation 3-5 p.m. Thursday, March 2, at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Celebration of life at 5 p.m. Casual attire; face masks and social distancing required. Richard “Rick” West, 84, of Medford, Ore., formerly of Hilo and Waimea, died Feb. 19 at home. Born in Hilo, he was a retired vice president and Big Island regional manager for Bank of Hawaii, former executive director of the Hawaii Island Economic Development Board, president of the Hawaii Island Chamber of Commerce and University of Hawaii at Hilo Vulcan Booster Club, chairman of the Hawaii Natural Energy Lab, and graduate of Punahou High School and Whitman College.
