Hawaii Island police are requesting the public’s assistance in locating 26-year-old Khiara Lavinia Henry.
Henry was reported missing on Maui in late July 2019. However, her family recently received a tip of a possible sighting of her in Pahoa town on Jan. 13.
According to Capt. Rio Amon-Wilkins of the East Hawaii Criminal Investigation Division, the reported sighting of Henry took place at the Pahoa 7-Eleven store. He said detectives will go through the store’s video surveillance to ascertain the validity of the sighting.
Henry, who is from San Diego, traveled to Maui in July 2019 for a vacation. Her rental vehicle was later located with some of her personal belongings at the Waiʻanapanapa State Park near Hana, Maui, on July 21. Her driver’s license and credit card were among those belongings found, according to reports.
She has not been seen or heard from since and calls to her cellphone since she was reported missing went immediately to voicemail.
Henry is described as 5-feet-3 inches tall, 120 pounds, with wavy brown hair and brown eyes. She is of African American and Native American descent.
