The Hawaii Police Department is advising the public to avoid Kumukoa Street in Hilo due to “police activity.”
Kumukoa Street between Mohouli Street and Ho‘opuni Street will be closed for the next four hours and will require a detour of traffic, HPD said in a bulletin at about 12:30 p.m.
The HPD bulletin didn’t specify what police activity was being conducted.
Motorists are advised to detour using Mohouli Street or Ponahawai Street.
