Prudencio “Dencio” Duldulao Dela Cruz Sr., 88, of Hilo died Dec. 20 at home. Born in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, he worked in the boiling house and pollution control section of the former Hamakua Sugar Co. and was co-owner of the former Dela Cruz Shave Ice. Visitation 9-10:30 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 11, at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Memorial service at 10:30 a.m. Casual attire. Burial noon at Homelani Memorial Park, Ilima Section. Survived by wife, Erlinda Esperon Dela Cruz of Hilo; sons, Prudencio “Unya” (Terri) Dela Cruz Jr. of Honolulu, Dan Dela Cruz of Las Vegas and Louisber “Louie” (Kenoalani) Dela Cruz of Hilo; daughter, Anna-Belle (Paul) Kutsunai of Maui; sisters, Clarita Dela Cruz of Maui and Macrina Vinoya of Laoag City, Philippines; five grandchildren; nephews, nieces and cousins. Kim Angela Hurst, 63, of Volcano died Jan. 12. Born in Pennsylvania, she was a U.S. Army veteran. Private services held. Kenji Kajiwara, 89, of Hilo died Jan. 12 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was a retired X-ray technician, watercolor artist, art instructor at Kamana Senior Center, avid fisherman and member of Waiakea Recreation Center Senior Exercise Group. Visitation 10-11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 13, at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Memorial service at 11 a.m. Casual attire. Alana Atkinson McKinney, 89, of Volcano died Jan. 17 at home. Born in Hilo, she was a homemaker and volunteer at Hawaii Volcanos National Park. Private services.
