A twin victory

On Jan. 22, 2023, it would have been the 50-year evil anniversary of the U.S. Supreme Court decision of Roe v. Wade (Jan. 22, 1973).

Abortion is when a baby gets the death penalty for other people’s actions.

However, on June 24, 2022, the court overturned its previous abortion decision, with Dobbs v. Jackson sending the abortion issue back down to the individual states.

This court ruling was a twin victory for national pro-life rights and for our constitutional republic’s system of governmental federalism.

On a national level we now have a country which has instituted a legal obligation process for pre-born children to be born and have lives of their own.

‘Make it worse’

Well, I was wrong.

Have you ever heard of a bipartisan group in Congress called the Problem Solvers Caucus. Looks like a group of over 50 legislators in the picture. I haven’t heard about them, either.

Strange? Not really.

When I heard the Republican speaker of the house could not get elected, I thought to myself, “Maybe there are some sound minds involved in this.” The rejected speaker had openly conferred with notorious Newt Gingrich on the best ways to disrupt and divide Congress.

Turns out, it was the other way around, and those who wanted to overthrow the government on the far right were the ones who thought the speaker wasn’t divisive enough.

Oh, my goodness. Let’s make it worse.

The key phrase that comes to mind is “politics as a performance art.”

Bravo. Magnifico. We will burn down the farm … but we will have won.

Applause, please.
