Kenneth Joseph Clinton Becktel, 84, of Hilo died Dec. 16 at home. Born in Los Angeles, he was a retired land surveyor. Visitation 9-10 a.m. Monday (Jan. 16) at Malia Puka O Kalani Catholic Church, 326 Desha Ave. in Keaukaha. Mass at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Homelani Memorial Park. Casual attire; no flowers. Survived by caregivers, Vanessa Hulihee and Chaminade Lani of Hilo; several cousins. Arrangements by Dodo Mortuary.

William C. Kukahiko, 70, of Hilo died Jan. 1 at Hilo Medical Center. Born and raised in Keaukaha, he was a resident at Yukio Okutsu Veterans Home, fisherman, opihi picker, coffee picker, throw-net weaver, member of the Job Corps and U.S. Army Vietnam War-era veteran. Private services at a later date. Survived by daughter, Chalet (Moni) Kukahiko-Faou; son, Jesse (Myra) Kukahiko; sisters, Lavaina (Bernardo) Agbigay, Roberta (Wayne) Crocker and Maylen (Rudy) Lopez; brothers, Randy Lowe and Robert (Kaiulani) Kukahiko, all of California; brother, Francis Kukahiko of Oahu; sister Edwina Kukahiko of Hilo. three grandchildren; aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Masako Kawamoto Shimasaki, 83, of Hilo died Feb. 11 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, she was a retired housekeeper for Dolphin Bay Hotel and member of Kumamoto Doshi Kai and Wainaku Kumiai Camp 2. Visitation 9-10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Memorial service at 10 a.m. Urn committal service to follow at Alae Cemetery. Casual attire. Survived by daughters, Lori (Louis) Casorla of Honolulu and Ann (John Gouveia) Butterfield of Hilo; brothers, Tsutomu Kawamoto and Raymond (Diane) Kawamoto of Hilo; sisters-in-law, Shigeno “Shirley” Kawamoto of Papaikou, Lillian Kawamoto of Kaneohe, Oahu, Harue Shimasaki of Hilo, Lynn Shimasaki of Los Angeles, Sachiko Shimasaki and Setsuko Shimasaki of Hilo; brother-in-law, Suemori Shimasaki of San Diego; three grandsons; nieces and nephews. Wanette Puanani Twiggs, 67, of Mountain View was died Nov. 13. She was an administrative activity director for Kokua Kalihi Valley on Oahu, a mentor to children and enjoyed cooking, quilting and camping. Celebration of life noon Saturday (Jan. 14) at 91-1194 Hoowalea St. in Ewa Beach, Oahu. Ashes will be scattered at Punaluu Beach Park on Oahu. Survived by husband, Eugene Twiggs; sons, Quentin (Malia) Twiggs and Clifton (Jaime) Twiggs; siblings, Varney (Johnette) Range, Joreen Range, Glynis (Terry) Shinjo and Carlyn Range; three grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
