George “Uncle Butchie” R.K. Akiu Sr., 82, of Hilo died Jan. 4 at home. Born in Wailuku, Maui, he was a retired machine operator for county Parks and Recreation and U.S. Army veteran. Adolfo Bustamante, 67, of Pahoa died Dec. 14 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in the Philippines, he was a carpenter. Private services held. Allan Prescott King Jr., 75, of Pahoa died Nov. 23. Born in San Francisco, he was a self-made rancher, farmer and advocate for self-sustainable living. Private ceremony on Sunday, Jan. 22.
