Henry Goo Akona Jr., 86, of Kailua-Kona died Nov. 16 at home. Born in Kailua-Kona, he was a custodian for the Department of Education, member of Hawaii Wood Turners Association and Hawaii Army National Guard veteran. Services at a later date. Ronald “Ron” Asis Mauricio, 83, of Pahoa died Dec. 20 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Oquendof barangay in Calbayog, Samar, Visayas, Philippines, he was a loyal and steadfast family man and the first music influencer to his children, who knew him as “Dang.” Visitation 4-6 p.m. Tuesday (Jan. 3) at Dodo Mortuary Chapel.
