Hawaii Island police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying two suspects wanted for stealing.
The first suspect is sought for a robbery at a Hilo business on the morning of Tuesday, Dec. 6.
At approximately 9:34 a.m., Hilo patrol officers responded to a retail business in the 300 block of Kilauea Avenue, where a store associate reported that a male suspect fled the business with a stolen backpack and other items.
The store associate attempted to stop the male suspect outside the store, and the suspect brandished a knife-type object, threatening the employee prior to fleeing the area on foot towards the Bayfront soccer fields.
The suspect is described as a local male with a medium build and dark skin, 6 feet tall, with a goatee. He was last seen wearing a gray T-shirt, jean pants, and a black-colored hat with the word “Hawaii” on it.
Police are continuing the investigation, which is classified as a first-degree robbery.

In an unrelated case, police are requesting the public’s assistance identifying an individual involved in a theft that took place at a retail store in Waikoloa on Thursday, Dec. 1, at 7:53 p.m. Police did not disclose what was allegedly stolen.
The suspect is described as a Caucasian male, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, 140 to 160 pounds, brown hair with a mustache and goatee. He was last seen wearing a yellow shirt, blue shorts and a light-colored baseball cap.
