Kaiakea Kahakuohuanuikala‘ila‘i Nacnac-Kaleiopu, four months old, died Oct. 23 at North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born in Hilo. Memorial service to be held noon-5 p.m. Nov. 6 at the Honokaa Union Hall. Survived by parents Malik-Mija Tomas-Nacnac and John Kaleiopu, Jr., of Honokaa; sister Kamoani Nacnac-Kaleiopu of Honokaa; grandparents Lorinell Nacnac and Pernell Thomas of Honokaa, John Kaleiopu, Sr., and Michelle Villaro of Makaha; great-grandmothers Etta Nacnac of Honokaa and Veroncia (Roland) Suda of Makaha; great-grandfathers Jacob Thomas, Sr., of Ewa Beach and Benjamin Villaro of Pearl City; and many cousins, aunts and uncles. Fujiko “Grace” Iwamoto, 98, of Hilo, died Oct. 4 at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in Pepeekeo, she was a homemaker and member of Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin. Private services held. Survived by daughters Karen (Wayne) Miyaji of Hilo and Sheryl (Dean) Anzai of Honolulu; sisters Mildred Miura of Honolulu and Maile Taniguchi of California; sisters-in-law Masako Tsukimura of Calif. and Rose Shimizu of Honolulu; two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Lavaina Barbara Arthur Ferreira, 93, of Kamuela, died Oct. 17 at Hale Ho‘ola Hamakua. Born in Honolulu, she was a retired librarian assistant with Maryknoll High School on Oahu and a member of Annunciation Catholic Church in Waimea. Services to be held on a later date. Preceded in death by husband William Conrad Ferreira. Survived by daughters Catherine Ferreira, Cynthia (Tom) Young, Charissa (Manolo) Tumalip, Cecilia (Matthew) Shizuru, all of Honolulu, and Christine Hijirida of Waimea, and six grandchildren. Loretta Louise Patterson, 90, of Naalehu, died Oct. 24 at home. Born in Gary, Ind., she was a homemaker and a member of the Naalehu Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Private services held.
