Jane K. Kubo, 91, of Hilo died Sept. 5 at home. Born in Wahiawa, Oahu, she was a retired Kalaniana‘ole Elementary School teacher and member of Hawaii State Teachers Association-Retired and University Heights Kumiai. Private services held. No flowers or koden (monetary gifts). Survived by sons, Bryce (Aleja Rivera) Kubo of Keaau and Earl (Jody) Kubo of Honolulu; daughter, Janelle Kubo of Honolulu; two grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Mary Fuji Masuko, 74, of Hilo died Aug. 31 at Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Care Center. Born in Hilo, she was a retired kindergarten teacher at Waiakea, Pahala, Naalehu and Mounntain View elementary schools and member of the Hilo Higashi Hongwanji Mission. Private services held. Mary Hugh Scott, 89, of Puako died Sept. 7 in Puako. Born in Houston, she was a member of and contributed to many organizations, includingy to PBS Hawaii, North Hawaii Community Hospital and St. James Church. Harold Saburo Tasaki, 86, of Hilo died March 15, 2020. He was a manager of Foodland for four-plus decades and supported numerous charities. Private celebration of life.
