Malvin “Murphy” Salvino Reyes, 58, of Pepeekeo died July 4 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Honokaa, he was a heavy equipment operator for Hawaii County Soilid Waste and Parks and Recreation divisions, cane truck driver for the former Hamakua Sugar Co., truck driver for De Luz Trucking Co. and Big Island Beef Packers, U.S. Army National Guard veteran and member of Big Island Independent Bikers. Visitation with military honors 10-10:30 a.m. Saturday (Aug. 20) at Laupahoehoe Point Gym. Mary Walsh Routery, 107, of Kailua-Kona died July 26 at Hospice of Kona’s Nakamaru Hale. Born in Carmi, Ill., she was a manager for North American Aviation, disability activist who served on the Hawaii County mayor’s committee, member of the Kona Outdoor Circle and board member of Kona Krafts (ARC of Kona).
