Toughman Hawaii Next Generation Junior Division Tournament of Champions is Saturday, Aug. 13 at Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium in Hilo. Doors open at 5 p.m. The action starts at 6 p.m.
This MMA event will feature competitors from around the state and Las Vegas.
The featured competitors include: Maximo Kyle, son of former UFC fighter Mike Kyle; Tyton Teves, son of two-time X-1 champion Tim Teves; Navaeh Hao, son of Bellator fighter Scotty Hao; Rayson Castro, son of initial Toughman Hawaii lightweight champion Raymond Castro; Chason Castro, son of reigning Toughman Hawaii cruiserweight champion Ashton “One-Whack Medevac Castro,” Isaiah Grace, son of Hard hitting Delbert (The Golden Hawaiian) Grace; Iliana Mandaloniz and Colt “Tuff” Mandaloniz; whose father is former UFC fighter Troy Mandaloniz.
Martial arts clubs participating include Spirit of the White Robe, AP Pagan Boxing, Castro Young Guns, Jesus Lord, Team Puna, Grace Kickboxing Academe. Team Teves, Team Rincon, Team Kyle Vegas, Penn MMA, Hao Academy, Kekino Kickboxing and MMA Academies and Fly Pen Boxing Mau.
The young fighters will compete to advance to finals. A champion will be crowned in each division and awarded a championship belt.
Concessions will be operated by Kaleo’s Bar and Grill.
The last Toughman Hawaii event was a memorial event in 2019 for Walter “Pops” Carvalho. This is the first Toughman Hawaii Next Generation Junior Division Tournament.
General admission tickets are $35 in advance, available only at Got Gifts in the Prince Kuhio Plaza.
Tickets will be $5 more at the door.
