Maxine “Honey” Bernice Cazimero, 83, of North Kohala died June 23 at home. Born in North Kohala, she was a retired food waitress for Mauna Kea Beach Hotel and retired certified nurse’s assistant for Kohala Home Healthcare. Celebration of life at a later date. Survived by husband, Antone Cazimero Jr. of North Kohala; daughters, Uilani (Bill) Neves of North Kohala and Kimberly Cazimero of Honokaa; sisters, Margaret (Gary) Caravalho of Waikoloa and Sylvia (Charles) Hoffman of Rio Vista, Calif.; sister-in-law, Lillian Ching of Hawi; eight grandchildren, a hanai grandchild and 17 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins. Benjamin “Benny” “Pops” Harris Doss, Jr., 71, of Pahoa died June 7 at home. Born in Hilo, he was a retired baseball umpire, U.S. Marine Corps veteran and member of Orchid Isle Umpire Association. Visitation 9-10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Celebration of life at 10 a.m. Urn committal service with military funeral honors to follow at Alae Cemetery, Section I. Casual attire. Survived by siblings, Dave Doss, Desmond Doss, Linda Doss, Joann Willis and Patricia Petkosek; children, Barbara (Alan) Alvarez, Shirley Filoteo Roaque, Alvina Santos, Vicki Santos and Chential Santos; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
