Carl Kainoa “Daddy Boy” Hose Jr., 71, of Puhi, Kauai, died June 5 at home. Born in Kalaoa, North Kona, he was a retired truck driver for Kauai Commercial Co. and Aloha Isle Moving and a U.S. Army Vietnam War veteran. Celebration of life 10:30 a.m. Saturday (July 30) at Kauai Veterans Center. Survived by sons, Carl (Donna) Hose and Dillon “Mano” (‘Ilima) Hose Sr.; daughter, Delilah “Behbeh” (Darrell) Pundyke; sisters, Barbara Jeannie Miles and Deanna Mahilani Moala, seven grandchildren and a great-grandchild on the way; nieces, nephews and cousins. Randall Nani Lau, 73, of Keaau died June 7 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was a retired custodian for the state Department of Education and Kamehameha Schools Hawaii Campus, former worker at Ace Hardware in Keaau and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Wanderers Boxing Club. No services. Survived by wife, Adelaide Lau of Puna; sons, Randy (Laurie) Lau of Hilo and Sherwood (Karmel) Lau of Puna; sisters, Alice Shiroma, Blanche Onuma and Betty (Raymond) Benevides of Hilo; four grandchildren and a great-granddaughter; nieces, nephews and cousins. Guy Christopher Miranda, 63, of Honokohau died June 2 at home. Born in Honolulu, he was a self-employed fence contractor, surfer and soccer coach who loved God, his family, friends, the paniolo culture and our ‘aina.
