The Wailoa Center and Hawaii Island Art Alliance are pleased to announce the 5th Annual MidSummer Art Celebration.

The exhibit is open now through June 29, 9 a.m.-4 p.m., Monday through Friday.

See artwork from over 60 artists from across Hawaii. The main gallery features artwork in a variety of media; from textiles to sculptures, from paintings to collage. The Fountain Gallery highlights the folks behind the scenes at Wailoa Center, with works from the jurors from the Hawaii Island Art Alliance, as well as artwork from the former Wailoa Center director, Codie King, and new director Emily Leucht.

It is a fun and bright show with a little something for everyone.

Winners of this year’s show are: First place, “Second Try” by Cris Lindborg; second place, “Big Island” by Ethel Mann; and third place, “Shell Table (Morissa Jannings)” by David Spiher.

Honorable mention was given to “Java Sparrows” by Valerie Beck, “Sunset” by Leonard Kubo, “Summer” by Gerdine Markus, “Red” by Patrick OKiersey, and “Underwater Treasure” by Sunny Seal.

Wailoa Center is a Division of State Parks, Department of Land and Natural Resources. It is closed on weekends and state holidays.
