John Ernest Beere, 77, of Hilo died May 17 at The Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu. Born in Adelaide, Australia, he was a retired Australian Army major and worked for Destination Hilo. Visitation 9-10 a.m. Wednesday (June 15) at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Funeral service at 10 a.m. Cremation to follow. Casual attire. Survived by wife, The Reve. Raymond Mee Chow Chang, 81, of Hilo died May 27 at Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Care Center. Born in Honolulu, he was a retired manager for Xerox, Wang Laboratories, Servco Pacific and Hawaii County, self-employed handyman, member of New Hope East Hawaii and U.S. Navy veteran.
