Lawrence Douglas Ackerman,III, 69, of Kealakekua died May 28 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Kaneohe, Oahu, he was a self-employed commercial fisherman and carpenter. Services at a later date. Survived by son, Lawrence (Eunice) Ackerman IV of Kealakekua; daughter, Erin Ackerman of Alaska; brother, William Ackerman of Honaunau; two grandsons, two granddaughters and a great-grandson. Albert A. Idemoto, 90, of Hilo died April 7 at Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home. Born in Hilo, he was a retired branch manager for Bank of Hawaii, U.S. Army veteran and member of Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin and East Hawaii Hiroshima Kenjin Kai. Private services held. Laura “Tutu” Ipo Motu‘apuaka, née Alencastre, 69, of Las Vegas, formerly of Hilo, died May 24 in Las Vegas. Born in Lihue, Kauai, she attended Hawaii Community College and the University of Hawaii at Hilo, worked at Hilo Medical Center, avid hiker and traveler, and loved watching her grandchildren play sports.
